  1. A senior official from Thailand's Ministry of Energy stated that, due to the significant increase in electricity demand expected from new data centers, Thailand plans to accelerate investment in liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure and natural gas exploration.
  2. The government is drafting a new power development plan to ensure adequate electricity supply for the data centers included in the plan. Once these data centers are fully operational, their total power consumption is expected to reach 20,000 megawatts. Authorities are considering expanding the LNG fractionation plant and import terminal in Rayong province, with the current facility having an annual processing capacity of approximately 20 million tons.
  3. The government is also studying the feasibility of developing natural gas fields in the Andaman Sea, a region where no exploration projects have previously been carried out due to high development costs.
