Hyundai Motor Group Plans to Acquire SoftBank's Remaining Stake in Boston Dynamics for $325 Million
On June 19, South Korea's Daily Economic News reported that Hyundai Motor Group plans to acquire SoftBank Group's remaining 9.65% stake in Boston Dynamics for $325 million, making the American robotics company a wholly-owned subsidiary. Hyundai is expected to hold a board meeting on June 22 to approve the acquisition. The report cited unnamed industry sources. SoftBank has informed Hyundai of its intention to exercise the 'put option' agreed upon during the previous sale of Boston Dynamics shares to sell its remaining holdings.
