Glonghui, June 22 — According to Nomura Holdings' announcement on June 22, as of the fiscal year ending March 31, CEO Kentaro Okuda’s compensation increased by 36%, reaching 1.6 billion yen (approximately $10 million). Christopher Willcox, head of the wholesale business division and the company's highest-paid executive, saw his compensation rise by 13% to $17 million. Under Okuda’s leadership, Japan’s largest securities firm achieved record net profits for the second consecutive year, mainly benefiting from a rebound in Japan’s financial markets and a surge in trading volume. As Okuda drives steady growth even during cyclical downturns, Nomura has raised its medium-term profit targets.
