Standard Chartered: U.S. economic "exceptionalism" may support a stronger dollar

Dan Pan, an Americas economist at Standard Chartered Bank in New York, stated: "The 'exceptionalism' of the US economy may support a stronger US dollar." However, she also noted that some of the market's reactions following the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting "may have been somewhat excessive," and that "if the Federal Reserve keeps interest rates unchanged, this could also boost market risk appetite for emerging market assets."
