Qualcomm announces it will supply its latest AI chips to Microsoft and Meta

Glonghui, June 25｜According to Yicai, Qualcomm disclosed on Wednesday that Microsoft and Meta will adopt its new AI chip solution; at the same time, the company will also develop customized chips for two other unnamed hyperscale cloud providers. This global smartphone chip leader held an investor communication meeting, officially launching its data center AI chip strategy. Qualcomm introduced that Microsoft will adopt its new High Bandwidth Compute (HBC) chip architecture. This solution relies on affordable, general-purpose memory for mobile phones and laptops, instead of the high-priced HBM high-bandwidth memory from NVIDIA or the static storage SRAM used by Cerebras, highlighting its cost advantage. Meta will be equipped with Qualcomm's self-developed CPU, Dragonfly C1000, specially designed for AI data centers.
