The Ethereum Foundation has slashed its workforce by 54 employees, or about 20% of its staff, and introduced a revamped operating model built around specialized teams overseeing protocol development, user access, community engagement and institutional adoption, according to a Tuesday blog post.

As part of the transition, departing employees will receive severance packages and support to help them continue contributing to the Ethereum ecosystem through new roles and projects. The EF said the result will be a more focused organization better positioned to pursue critical long-term objectives and guide Ethereum’s continued development.

The foundation’s new structure is built around five core domains, including protocol development, access infrastructure, user-focused research, community engagement, and institutional adoption. Each cluster has distinct responsibilities but collectively supports the foundation’s goal of preserving Ethereum’s commitment to decentralization, privacy, security and self-sovereign participation.

The framework also includes operational and management teams to support execution across the organization.

The move follows a series of exits from the Ethereum Foundation this year. Last week, co-executive director and board member Hsiao-Wei Wang stepped down from her leadership role following a sabbatical period that prompted her to reassess her priorities.

High interest rates are not the "end" of US stocks? Is profitability the real key?

JPMorgan believes that profit growth is the key factor determining the resilience of U.S. stock valuations. Data since 1950 shows an "inverted U-shaped" relationship between the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield and S&P 500 valuations. Based on current profit levels, yields would need to reach about 5%-6% to significantly compress valuations. As long as profit growth remains above 15%, there is still room for valuations to be re-rated. If the yield curve steepens in a bear market, cyclical sectors such as energy and financials will benefit more; if it flattens, technology stocks will have a relative advantage.
