Golden Ten Data Futures, June 29 — According to a Minmetals Futures research report, over the weekend, news of supply-side production resumption spread, and lithium carbonate prices are expected to continue falling at market open. On the supply side, the main increase in lithium carbonate supply in the second half of the year will mainly come from spodumene, with the overall supply release pace slightly faster than in the first half of the year. On the demand side, downstream orders remain strong. Although July and August are traditionally the off-season for new energy vehicle consumption, downstream production schedules are still showing month-on-month growth, and robust demand is expected in the peak season of September and October. Overall, based on our assessment of supply and demand balance for the year, even if large lithium mines in Jiangxi resume production, lithium carbonate is likely to remain in a tight balance. In the short term, price declines may prompt downstream stocking demand to be released ahead of schedule, thus providing support for prices at lower levels.
