The US stock storage sector opened under pressure, with Micron Technology and SanDisk stock prices falling. Samsung and SK Hynix announced an 800 trillion KRW investment plan to build a new chip manufacturing hub, together accounting for two-thirds of the global memory chip production capacity. The planned expansion of capacity is expected to put pressure on the supply curve for FY27–FY28, causing direct DRAM/NAND stocks to come under strain, while companies mainly engaged in memory structure or hard disk business performed relatively resiliently.
