Fund Manager: Gulf Debt Issuance Rebounds After War Shock

Jinse Finance reported that on July 1, Mehdi Popotte, Executive Director and Senior Fund Manager at Arqaam Capital, stated that after a brief disruption caused by the Iran-Israel conflict, debt issuance among nearly all categories of borrowers in the Gulf Cooperation Council region has rebounded. He pointed out that the pricing of new deals has narrowed by 30 to 50 basis points compared to initial discussions. Popotte said investor confidence is returning first through higher-risk bank capital instruments rather than safer senior debt, indicating that buyers are willing to return to the region before geopolitical risks are fully eliminated.
