BlockBeats News, on July 5, Serenity stated that there currently appears to be a shortage of high-power cylindrical batteries / BBU cells, which has become a potential bottleneck.

Samsung SDI supplies cells to Simplo, which assembles them into BBUs that are then supplied to companies such as Meta and Amazon. As data center demand increases, Samsung SDI’s cylindrical battery production has also risen sharply. Citing industry sources, it was stated that Panasonic and Samsung SDI are experiencing a shortage of BBU cell supply.

Serenity believes that the main beneficiaries may include Samsung SDI, Panasonic Energy, Murata Manufacturing, and LG Energy Solution. Among them, Samsung SDI and Panasonic Energy are the more direct beneficiaries.

It also mentioned that there are not many directly related stocks in the US market, but attention can be paid to Vertiv (VRT), Eaton (ETN), and others. However, not all shortages should be simply equated with having a huge TAM, but there may be opportunities among them.
