Panda bonds gain popularity as a vote of confidence in China's economy

According to Enterprise Early Warning data, as of July 6, the total issuance of Panda Bonds this year has reached 166.225 billion yuan, which is 90% of the total issuance for all of last year. Currently, industry insiders generally expect Panda Bond issuance for the full year of 2026 to reach a record high. At present, Panda Bond issuers include a wide range of entities such as sovereign institutions from Poland, Portugal, Egypt, and Hungary; international development institutions like the Asian Development Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and New Development Bank; major international financial institutions such as Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, and United Overseas Bank; as well as multinational companies like Mercedes-Benz and Bayer.
