Sign has partnered with the Bhutan Sovereign Wealth Fund to build a sovereign digital identity and verifiable credential ecosystem.
BlockBeats News, July 7th, according to official sources, Sign has officially partnered with Bhutan's sovereign wealth fund Druk Holding & Investment (DHI) subsidiary, the National Digital Identity Company (Bhutan NDI), to jointly build a secure, inclusive, and interoperable sovereign digital identity and Verifiable Credentials system for governments worldwide.
On June 18, 2026, the SIGN Foundation, Bhutan NDI, and the Ministry of Communication, Technology, and Innovation of Sierra Leone (MoCTI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaboratively design, develop, and implement Sierra Leone's national digital identity platform. This platform is built on open-source technology and Verifiable Credentials compliant with W3C standards, allowing citizens to securely prove and manage their identities while upholding high standards of privacy, security, and data sovereignty.
