Bloomberg analyst: US stocks have become the cornerstone of American retirement funds, and the Federal Reserve may buy stock ETFs to rescue the market in the future

Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas stated that the US stock market is becoming the de facto US retirement fund, with around 55% of Americans holding stocks, and the Trump Accounts plan is expected to add about 28 million new investors. Eric Balchunas believes that in the next major bear market, the Federal Reserve is likely to purchase stock ETFs for the first time to stabilize the market, similar to its purchase of corporate bond ETFs in 2020, as well as the practices of central banks in Japan and China.
