Wolfspeed files infringement lawsuit against Navitas over GaN and SiC patents

Glonghui, July 8th ｜ Silicon carbide power semiconductor giant Wolfspeed has announced that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against competitor Navitas Semiconductor regarding core intellectual property for gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) technologies. Wolfspeed stated that this move is intended to defend its foundational GaN and SiC patent portfolio. Navitas Semiconductor is the direct defendant in this lawsuit. As a fabless company focused on the design of GaN and SiC power integrated circuits, Navitas and Wolfspeed are both active in the next-generation power device market. If the court rules against Navitas, it may face consequences such as redesigning its products, paying licensing fees, or restrictions on sales.
