Tata Steel's Netherlands division sued over environmental pollution issues

Golden Ten Data July 8｜Dutch prosecutors announced on July 8 that they have filed a criminal lawsuit against the Netherlands branch of Tata Steel in India, accusing it of "deliberately" polluting the environment. Prosecutors discovered that the Tata Steel Netherlands branch's steel plant in IJmuiden, west of Amsterdam, was "insufficient" in preventing environmental pollution, had inadequate maintenance of its coke ovens, as well as unlicensed operations and other violations, which have negatively impacted the surrounding environment and the lives of nearby residents.
