Rare! UK Issues Power Supply Alert Due to Heatwave Impact on Power Grid

The National Energy System Operator (NESO) expects an electricity margin gap of about 1.2 GW during Thursday evening's peak demand period and has issued an Electricity Margin Notice, requesting power generators and flexibility service providers to supply additional available capacity. NESO stated that a grid alert does not mean that power outages are expected. "Our forecasts show that electricity margins will become tight during tomorrow evening's peak period.
