1. During early Asian trading on Thursday, international oil prices fluctuated at high levels, maintaining the gains from the previous two sessions. The United States launched a new round of military strikes against Iran, diminishing market expectations that the Iran war would end quickly and that navigation in the Strait of Hormuz would fully resume, thus supporting oil prices. Both major benchmark contracts closed at over a two-week high on Wednesday; WTI crude is currently trading around $74.30 per barrel, and Brent crude is trading around $78.85 per barrel.2. Amid escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, the US Army launched new strikes against targets inside Iran in the early hours of Thursday (UTC+8). A few hours earlier, the US President had threatened further action at the NATO Summit held in Ankara, Turkey, and announced that the provisional agreement aimed at ending the Iran war "has been terminated."3. US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported: "Under orders from the Commander-in-Chief, US Central Command forces have begun additional strikes against Iran to further degrade its ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz."4. Market analysts pointed out that the recent surge in oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz has now come to an end, and shipowners are expected to take a more cautious approach. On Thursday morning (UTC+8), Iran stated that after the US military struck Iranian targets in response to the tanker attack incident in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran carried out retaliatory strikes on US military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait.
