Glonghui, July 15 — According to TheElec, Samsung SDI is currently converting an existing battery production line at its joint venture with Stellantis, StarPlus Energy, located in Kokomo, Indiana, into a dedicated ESS battery production line for Tesla's Megapack electrochemical energy storage systems. This line will use lithium iron phosphate technology and manufacture higher-capacity 300Ah products, with production expected to start in Q2 2027.
