Jinse Finance reports that after the "Black Monday" on the Korean stock market, a rapid rebound occurred, but individual investors who had previously made large-scale bottom-fishing purchases in semiconductor giants faced a scenario of “buying the dip during the slump and exiting during the rebound.” According to data from the Korea Exchange, Korean retail investors bought a total of approximately 3.89 trillion KRW worth of Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, with a net purchase of 1.10 trillion KRW in Samsung Electronics and 2.79 trillion KRW in SK hynix. On the same day, the stock prices of the two companies plummeted by 10.7% and 15.37%, respectively, with retail investors taking over the chips sold off by foreign investors and institutions. However, as semiconductor stocks rebounded, retail investors quickly switched to selling.
