(1) The Oxford Economics Institute pointed out that the Eurozone industry has demonstrated a certain degree of resilience amid the US-Iran conflict, with overall output in May falling by 0.2% month-on-month. However, excluding the sharp contraction in Ireland, other regions achieved growth in output. (2) Nevertheless, strong performance was mainly concentrated in precautionary inventory building in industries such as chemicals, refining, and plastics, as well as semiconductor machinery in the Netherlands, rather than a broad-based improvement. (3) This structural divergence means the foundation for industrial recovery remains unstable, and expansion in some sectors may only be a temporary stocking phenomenon, not a sustained rebound in terminal demand. (4) Analysts warn that any disruption to the current fragile ceasefire agreement could test this resilience. If geopolitical tensions worsen again, supply chains and energy costs will be pressured anew. (5) Attention must now focus on the sustainability of German manufacturing orders and the momentum of semiconductor exports. If the inventory cycle ends without demand picking up, Eurozone industrial output will face downside risks.
