Jinse Finance reported on July 19, citing CoinDesk, that offshore stablecoin issuers such as Tether may be required to comply with the requirements of the GENIUS Act by July 2028, or risk losing their eligibility to list on centralized exchanges in the United States. Compliance requirements may include registration with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), adherence to U.S. freeze and seizure orders, and adjustments to the reserve structure of USDT. Federal regulatory agencies have not yet finalized the detailed implementation rules.
