CANADA FX DEBT - Canadian dollar weakens, benchmark yield slips
Reuters2026/07/20 13:00The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Monday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped.
The loonie CAD= was trading 0.2% lower at C$1.4044 to the greenback, or 71.2 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.4004 to 1.4052.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields CA10YT=RR fell 1.8 basis points to 3.542%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.5615%.
U.S. August crude CLc1 futures rose 7 cents to $82.56 a barrel on Monday.
Canada's annual inflation rate eased to 2.8% in June, down from 3.2% in May, Statistics Canada said. Analysts polled by Reuters had expected an annual rate of 2.9%
