Cryptocurrency Spot Trading Volume Remains Depressed, 7-Day Average Down Nearly 80% from 2025 Peak
BlockBeats News, July 20th. Currently, the cryptocurrency spot market remains in a downturn. Data shows that the 7-day moving average of spot trading volume on cryptocurrency exchanges has dropped to around $21.4 billion, nearly an 80% decrease from the peak of $104.3 billion seen in October 2025.
Analysts suggest that the biggest risk in the current crypto market is not just a simple decline but rather the "wait-and-see sentiment without a clear direction." Participant apathy and hesitation may be emerging as the primary challenges in the current cycle.
According to The Block's data, cryptocurrency trading volume surged in the second half of 2025, reaching its peak in October and then steadily declining in activity. As of July 2026, market transaction volume has dropped to nearly a one-year low.
