Kazakhstan warns Kashagan operator head of possible prosecution over failure to pay environmental fine
Reuters2026/07/21 12:27ALMATY, July 21 (Reuters) - Kazakhstan's Ministry of Justice has warned the head of the North Caspian Operating Company, which operates the country's Kashagan oilfield, of possible criminal prosecution over failure to pay an almost $5 billion environmental fine, two sources close to the matter told Reuters on Tuesday.
