North American drilling rebound fails to offset Middle East geopolitical shocks; Halliburton (HAL.US) Q2 operating profit falls 6% year-on-year, missing expectations

According to Golden Ten Data APP, before the US stock market opened on Tuesday, the world's largest hydraulic fracturing service provider, Halliburton (HAL.US), released its second quarter financial report. Data shows that the company's Q2 revenue was $5.71 billion, a 3.7% year-on-year increase, better than market expectations; adjusted earnings per share were $0.55, also beating market expectations; however, adjusted operating profit was $683 million, a 6.1% year-on-year decrease, falling short of the analysts' average expectation of $688.7 million.
