US Stocks Alert | General Motors (GM.US) rises over 4% as Q2 earnings beat expectations and full-year profit guidance is raised again

According to Zhitong Finance APP, on Tuesday, General Motors (GM.US) rose over 4% to $79.30. In terms of news, on July 21, General Motors announced its second quarter financial results: adjusted EBIT reached $3.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 29.8%. Adjusted earnings per share were $3.57, far exceeding the expected $3.19; the profit margin jumped from 6.4% to 8.2%. Revenue was $48.03 billion, up 1.9% year-on-year, also beating expectations.
Based on the strong momentum in the first half of the year, General Motors announced its second upward revision of its full-year guidance for 2026: adjusted EBIT this year is expected to be between $14 billion and $16 billion, higher than the $13.5 billion to $15.5 billion forecast in April 2026, and also higher than the $13 billion to $15 billion forecast in January. The midpoint of the adjusted earnings per share guidance is $13, higher than the consensus analyst estimate of $12.79.
