Bloomberg ETF analyst: Suggests that Buffett and others donate stocks through "Trump accounts" to narrow the wealth gap
According to Odaily, Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas posted on the X platform stating that, after some consideration, he believes Warren Buffett and others could or should choose Trump Accounts as the destination for donating stocks. He noted that this move could achieve several objectives simultaneously: first, to immediately narrow the wealth gap, especially in postal code areas like Dell that target low-income groups, since almost all of these individuals’ wealth comes from stocks; second, to enhance financial literacy, as donating stocks would encourage people to learn about markets and investing; third, to curb the rise of “redistribution” economic policies and politicians; fourth, to expand the impact, especially if the 95-year-old Buffett gives Berkshire stock to children, who would then grow up as Berkshire investors; and fifth, to avoid mismanagement, fees, and capital gains taxes, as such donations would go 100% directly to the recipients with no capital gains tax required.
