Nvidia launches Spectrum-6 Ethernet switching system for next-generation hyperscale AI factories
According to Odaily, NVIDIA released the next-generation Spectrum-6 Ethernet switch system on July 21, designed to support ultra-large-scale AI infrastructure based on the Vera Rubin platform. This system delivers a single-switch capacity of 102.4Tbps, double that of the previous generation, and is intended to connect hundreds of thousands of GPUs and CPUs, providing network support for large-scale AI training, agent applications, and inference tasks.
NVIDIA stated that Spectrum-6 will serve as the core component of the next-generation Spectrum-X Ethernet platform, enhancing overall computing efficiency of AI factories through high bandwidth, intelligent traffic management, and fault recovery capabilities. AI infrastructure builders including CoreWeave, Microsoft, Nebius, SpaceXAI, and Tesla will be among the first users to deploy it.
