Goldman Sachs Creates Private Market Platform
On July 22, it was reported that Goldman Sachs has established a new platform to expand its range of services for wealthy clients and family offices, meeting their demand for direct investments in private companies. According to an internal memo, the newly formed division is named the 'Alternative Investment Platform,' which integrates Goldman Sachs' existing alternative investment businesses and adds two newly established teams. The memo states that these two teams focus respectively on direct investments in individual private companies and assisting clients in buying and selling equity in such private companies.
