A survey by MNEE Pay and YouGov shows that 62% of stablecoin holders in the United States have converted stablecoins back to dollars because merchants did not accept them; 84% of holders prioritize merchants that accept stablecoins, and 54% hold stablecoins for future spending. Among cryptocurrency holders aged 18 to 34, 88% hold stablecoins, while among those aged over 55, the proportion is 15%. The survey was conducted in April 2026 with a sample of 251 American adults who hold cryptocurrency, of whom 103 were stablecoin holders.
