Similar to the fiber optics industry in the past, which rapidly shifted from undersupply to massive oversupply capacity, the data centers being expensively constructed today might face significant depreciation in the future due to excess capacity. In his view, while AI demand is indeed expected to grow, betting with decades-long debt on the market 10 or 20 years down the line still poses a very high risk.
