According to Zhitong Finance APP, on Wednesday, Super Micro Computer (SMCI.US) surged more than 18%, closing at $30.24. In terms of news, Super Micro Computer’s preliminary results show that the gross margin for the fiscal quarter ending June 30 is expected to be between 15%-17%, far exceeding the previous guidance of 8.2%-8.4%, mainly due to favorable changes in customer structure and product mix.
The company also disclosed that revenue for the fourth fiscal quarter will fall at the low end of the previously provided guidance range of $11 billion to $12.5 billion (with the midpoint at $11.75 billion), while the general market expectation was $11.68 billion. As new orders in the quarter exceeded $60 billion, the company’s order backlog hit a record high.
