  1. On Thursday, Brent crude oil surged 4% to about $97.9 per barrel, reaching its highest level since June 3. Oil tankers near Saudi Arabia were hit by new attacks, and the U.S. once again issued threats against Iran, intensifying market concerns over possible supply disruptions. According to a report by the UK Maritime Trade Operations agency, a tanker caught fire after being attacked approximately 70 nautical miles southwest of Al Shuqaiq. Yemen's Houthi forces claimed responsibility, stating that they used drones and missiles to strike two Saudi tankers for violating the maritime blockade.
  2. Hours before this incident, U.S. President Trump warned that should Iran attack any vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. would target an Iranian bridge or power plant. This move signals further escalation following the collapse of the U.S.-Iran ceasefire. Iran responded that if Washington carries out its threat, it will retaliate against infrastructure and energy assets in the region associated with the U.S.
