US Stocks Move | Google (GOOGL.US) drops over 6% as capital expenditure is sharply raised, triggering market concerns

According to Zhitong Finance APP, on Thursday, Google (GOOGL.US) fell more than 6%, closing at $320.16. In terms of news, Google’s parent company Alphabet announced its second-quarter results. Alphabet’s capital expenditure for the second quarter was $44.92 billion, exceeding the market expectation of $44.15 billion. The company raised its fiscal year 2026 capital expenditure guidance by $15 billion to a range of $195 billion to $205 billion, a significant increase from the previous guidance of $180 billion to $190 billion. The company also expects capital expenditure to remain substantially higher in 2027. BofA Securities forecasts the company’s free cash flow for the full year 2026 to be negative $16 billion, with 2027 also remaining negative.
