US military launches 13th consecutive night of strikes on Iranian military targets
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it is attacking Iran for the 13th consecutive night, the Guardian reported on Friday. The US military stated that this action aims to hold Iran accountable and diminish threats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to commercial shipping.
“US forces started another night of strikes against Iranian military targets at 6:45 p.m. ET (2245 GMT) today,” CENTCOM) said, adding that the “strikes aimed to hold Iran accountable and diminish threats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to commercial shipping.”
US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he was close to deciding whether to launch “a massive attack” against Iran, on a scale larger than strikes already witnessed during the months-long conflict.
“I am considering a massive attack. Bigger than ever before. I am close to making a decision. We are all set for it,” Trump told Axios.
Trump also said that damage caused to shipping by Iranian attacks could be paid for using Tehran’s assets frozen overseas.
