According to Decrypt, the Brazilian Fazenda Engenho Velho farm completed its first tokenized livestock financing on an exchange by using 10 dairy cows as collateral, with a loan amount of 100 thousand reais (approximately 19,400 US dollars). Cowmed collected cow data with AI sensors to generate digital identities and register them in credit contracts. In 2025, the number of agricultural bankruptcy filings in Brazil reached 1,990. Cowmed plans to include 20% of monitored dairy cows (about 77.6 million US dollars) into the tokenized collateral system within two years and aims to leverage around 970 thousand US dollars in credit by the end of 2026.
