Foresight News reports that Base engineer Eric Liu tweeted that Base v2 snapshots are now live. Thanks to new sharding and higher compression rates, the mainnet snapshot size has been reduced from about 7 TB to approximately 3.2 TB, synchronization time has dropped from roughly 5 hours to around 2 hours, and the pruned node size is approximately 1 TB.

The corresponding base/node v1.2.0 release on GitHub has been upgraded to Reth v2.3.0, officially introducing V2 snapshot support. Node operators are required to update to this version and complete the migration of the database to v2 storage. This version also fixes the issue of pruned nodes syncing from the genesis block. The official team reminds node operators to complete the migration before the MDBX hard limit deadline in mid-August.
