Jinse Finance reported that on July 24, according to Fortune magazine, the long-awaited CLARITY Act for digital asset regulation in the US crypto industry has encountered obstacles. Senate Majority Whip John Thune stated that the Senate is not expected to pass the bill before the August recess. Recently, the Trump family's connections with crypto businesses have become a focal point of controversy, as Democrats have demanded the inclusion of ethics provisions in the bill to restrict government officials from profiting through crypto transactions. They argue that the Trump family has already gained over 2 billion dollars in profit through meme coins and other crypto projects, raising concerns about conflicts of interest.Ron Hammond, Head of Policy and Advocacy at the crypto company Wintermute, said that the biggest obstacle for the current bill is not the lack of votes but the political pressure of the US midterm elections. He believes Congress may still have a window to advance the bill after the elections.Analysts have noted that as the November midterm elections approach, the Democrats may regain the House of Representatives and expand their seats in the Senate. This could alter the legislative environment for crypto regulation, and the current formal legislative process may only be experiencing a temporary pause.
