  • The European Central Bank has announced that a new euro liquidity facility targeting non-euro area central banks will officially launch in the fourth quarter. The institution is now accepting applications from interested central banks.
  • Central banks participating in this facility can access up to 50 billion euros in liquidity, provided as loans backed by high-quality, euro-denominated collateral. Pricing is set at the ECB's main refinancing operations rate plus a markup.
  • The ECB stated that central banks already connected to the facility can flexibly utilize EUREP funds without prior usage restrictions. After completing the onboarding process, each central bank will be able to draw funds from the facility starting from the fourth quarter of 2026.
