Celestia CEO: Custom chain business will focus on Agentic Payments and on-chain marketplaces
Foresight News reported that Celestia posted on X that its CEO and co-founder Nick White released a video statement regarding the recent acquisition of Sovereign Labs and the company’s business transformation. Its custom high-performance blockchain business will focus on two verticals: Agentic Payments and on-chain markets. Agentic Payments aims to support high-frequency, large-scale microtransactions, enabling instant settlement without the need to establish billing relationships. In terms of on-chain markets, its goal is to bring the throughput and latency of on-chain exchanges to the level of certain exchanges or even Nasdaq. Additionally, Celestia stated that its market entry strategy has shifted from primarily collaborating with startups and independent developers to working directly with large-scale applications and enterprises that have real business needs and distribution capabilities, providing them with full-stack blockchain infrastructure.
As previously reported by Foresight News, Celestia Labs has acquired high-performance blockchain framework developer Sovereign Labs. Sovereign Labs co-founder Preston Evans will serve as Chief Technology Officer at Celestia Labs. Following this acquisition, Celestia Labs’ technical capabilities will extend from Layer 1 to the execution and application layers, becoming a full-stack custom blockchain development partner for enterprises.
