Singapore Dollar Edges Higher Before MAS's Decision Next Week -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/07/24 02:480248 GMT - The Singapore dollar strengthens slightly against its U.S. counterpart before the MAS's monetary-policy decision due Monday. "Our base case remains for MAS to leave policy settings unchanged in July while maintaining a clear tightening bias," MUFG Bank's Lloyd Chan says in a research report. However, "Singapore's growth momentum remains strong, while inflation risks are skewed to the upside, so there is a risk of a pre-emptive tightening move next week," the senior currency analyst adds. The U.S. dollar is 0.1% lower at 1.2918 Singapore dollars, LSEG data show. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
