Analysis: SK Hynix's Second Quarter Earnings Expected to Hit Record High
BlockBeats News, July 27th, Meritz Securities analyst Kim Sun-woo stated that driven by one-time investment gains and the increase in semiconductor prices, SK Hynix is expected to announce a record-breaking second-quarter performance.
The analyst estimated that SK Hynix's pre-tax profit from April to June will exceed 100 trillion Korean won, including 6.01 trillion Korean won in operating profit, and a 4.16 trillion Korean won investment gain from holding shares in Japan's Kioxia through the U.S. private equity firm Bain Capital. This performance will surpass the company's first-quarter record of 5.88 trillion Korean won in operating profit. He added that the prices of DRAM and NAND memory chips rose by 30% and 49%, respectively, in the second quarter.
