On Tuesday, traffic through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait reached its highest level in nearly ten days, but key energy transport vessels were still absent.

(1) Kpler shipping data shows that 37 cargo ships passed through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait on Tuesday, setting a new record since July 19. Of these, 20 entered, and 17 exited.(2) Among the ships passing through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait that day, there were no large crude oil or liquefied natural gas vessels. Among the departing ships, three Aframax oil tankers carried crude oil: the Aisopos and Gustav each carried over 750,000 barrels heading to the Gulf of Aden, while the Karachi carried about 430,000 barrels headed for Pakistan.(3) Among the incoming vessels, two were transporting petrochemical products: the Velos Aquarius carried 345,000 barrels of methyl tert-butyl ether to the region west of Suez, and the Sea Ambition carried nearly 93,000 barrels of chemicals to Turkey.
