Solana mainnet has reached 100 million CU blocks, capacity increased by 66%
Solana officially announced that its mainnet has launched 100M CU blocks. SIMD-0286 increases the block compute units limit from 60M to 100M, boosting capacity by 66%.
According to the official statement, in the past year, about 1 out of every 9 blocks ran near full capacity during peak on-chain activity periods. 100M CU provides the network with additional space. This is only the first step, with further upgrades to follow, including Alpenglow and reducing slot times to 200ms.
