WHAT TO WATCH
- Investors will be keen to know how well the Bombardier's defense segment is performing. National Bank of Canada's Cameron Doerksen noted in a report that the segment has been a key driver for the company's share price momentum. It surpassed $1 billion in revenue last year, and Doerksen said that it could be on its way to surpassing its latest $1.5 billion target.
- Bombardier's core business-jet segment will also be closely watched. Doerksen said that according to business aviation data provider WingX, global business jet departures so far this year are up 3.7% compared to the same period last year. "Higher business jet utilization is typically a leading indicator for new jet demand as well as aftermarket activity," he said.
- Investors will want to know how deliveries are progressing in the year. Bombardier has a target of 157 or more business jet deliveries for the full year and Doerksen thinks the number sits a little higher than that. "We remain comfortable with our full-year delivery forecast of 159 (guide for 157+) as well as our 2027 forecast for 165 deliveries," he said.
