Ripple Just Moved 66 Million XRP. Something Is Happening

Crypto commentator XRP Update (@XrpUdate) flagged a significant on-chain event. Ripple transferred 66 million XRP, worth $70.47 million, to an unknown wallet. He attached an image of the Whale report, suggesting that something is brewing behind the scenes.

The transaction completed successfully on July 29, 04:50 PM UTC. XRPScan confirmed the details, identifying the sending account as Ripple (50).

The Transaction Details

The delivered amount is exactly 66 million XRP. The destination wallet carries no public label on XRPScan, keeping the recipient’s identity unknown. The presence of a destination tag suggests the funds landed at an exchange or custodial platform, routed to a specific client account rather than a personal wallet.

Ripple is the largest XRP holder. Transfers of this scale draw scrutiny because they can reflect anything from programmatic treasury activity to deals with institutional players. The absence of a labeled destination makes the purpose harder to confirm, but the size and timing place it outside routine escrow activity or recognized operational territory.

What This Could Mean

Ripple has consistently sold portions of its XRP holdings through scheduled monthly activity. A transfer to an unlabeled wallet can signal a sale to an OTC buyer, a custodial arrangement, or a strategic distribution to a partner or institutional client. At over $70 million, this warrants more than passing attention.

TimesTabloid has reported growing whale accumulation throughout July, with Santiment data showing wallets holding between 100,000 and 100 million XRP increased their positions by 2.8% over five weeks. A transfer of this size from Ripple to an unknown address fits the pattern of large capital movements that analysts have been tracking all month.

Market Context

The ecosystem also experienced a sharp rotation in exchange flows earlier in July. Coinbase’s share of net XRP wallet flows dropped from around 28% to 1.8%, while Bittrex absorbed nearly 30% of all net flows. Analysts noted at the time that flows were moving ahead of price.

This latest transfer adds to that picture. Over $70 million worth of XRP moving to an unknown wallet, originating directly from Ripple, is the kind of on-chain signal that warrants close attention. Whether it marks a strategic distribution, an OTC deal, or preparation for something larger remains to be seen.

High interest rates are not the "end" of US stocks? Is profitability the real key?

JPMorgan believes that profit growth is the key factor determining the resilience of U.S. stock valuations. Data since 1950 shows an "inverted U-shaped" relationship between the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield and S&P 500 valuations. Based on current profit levels, yields would need to reach about 5%-6% to significantly compress valuations. As long as profit growth remains above 15%, there is still room for valuations to be re-rated. If the yield curve steepens in a bear market, cyclical sectors such as energy and financials will benefit more; if it flattens, technology stocks will have a relative advantage.
