Starbucks Stock Jumps After Earnings Beat and Strong Outlook -- Barrons.com

Starbucks shares jumped nearly 8% in after-hours trading after the company reported third quarter earnings and revenue that beat expectations and a strong outlook that suggests its turnaround is underway.

The stock rose 7.7% after hours, to $111.99, after closing the regular session up 1% to $104.14.

Wall Street expected the coffee chain to report earnings of 66 cents a share and revenue of $9.17 billion.

Starbucks sees full year profit of $2.55 to $2.65 a share, while Wall Street analysts were expecting $2.40 a share.

The company is in the middle of executing a turnaround strategy, with signs of improving traffic and execution in the previous quarter.
