Société Générale Q2 net profit rises 23.2% to EUR 1.79 billion; revenue climbs 4.5% to EUR 7.1 billion
Reuters2026/07/30 04:26- Société Générale posted record Q2 net income attributable to shareholders of EUR 1.79 billion, up 23.2% year over year, with ROTE rising to 12.2% from 9.7%.
- Net banking income climbed 4.5% to EUR 7.1 billion, while operating income rose 21.2% to EUR 2.55 billion as costs fell 4.1% to EUR 4.16 billion.
- First-half net income attributable to shareholders rose 13.9% to a record EUR 3.49 billion, with net banking income up 2.4% to EUR 14.2 billion.
- The bank lifted its 2026 ROTE target to about 11%, launched an exceptional EUR 1.5 billion share buyback, and set an interim dividend of EUR 0.75 per share.
- CEO Slawomir Krupa said the results reflect “solid and sharply improving” performance, ahead of a Sept. 21 Capital Markets Day strategy update.
