Erste Group H1 FY26 net profit rises 18.6% to EUR 2 billion

- Operating income climbed 40.4% to almost EUR 8 billion; net interest income jumped 42.3% to EUR 5.4 billion.
- Operating result increased 49.3% to EUR 4.4 billion, while the cost/income ratio improved 3.3 percentage points to 44.4%.
- Risk costs rose to EUR 583 million on IFRS 9 one-offs tied to the Polish consolidation; banking levies nearly doubled to EUR 392 million.
- Guidance was raised, with the customer loan volume target lifted to about EUR 290 billion and ROTE seen above 20%; CEO Peter Bosek cited strong lending momentum.
