STOXX PUSHING HIGHER

European shares seem to be shaking off lots of the global noise - whether that's AI-related concerns or the latest strikes in the Middle East - and moving solidly higher.

The STOXX 600 .STOXX is up 0.4%, the FTSE 100 .FTSE is 0.3% higher after hitting a fresh record high, and the CAC 40 .FCHI 0.7%. One of the few outliers is the DAX .GDAXI, down 0.1%.

Construction and materials stocks .SXOP are up around 1.9%, leading sectoral gains, while chemicals .SX4P and mining .SXPP companies were both around 1.5% higher. On the other end of that spectrum, healthcare stocks were down 0.7%.

Earnings are again a big contributor to individual stock moves.

Adidas ADSGn.DE shares fell over 17% and were on track for their biggest-ever daily fall after the German sportswear maker posted profits that disappointed the market despite lifting its outlook for sales.

Elsewhere, chemical group Dsm-firmenich DSFIR.AS beat market expectations for second-quarter core earnings and said full-year sales growth should reach the upper end of its target range. Shares were last up 12%.

And beyond earnings, shares in Swiss chemicals company Clariant CLN.S jumped 18% after the Amsterdam district court dismissed a damage claim from Shell.
